How to use it

List every stop for the route, then reorder them into the most efficient geographic sequence.

It's a working document that sequences a driver's stops for the day, with delivery windows, drive times, service times, and running ETAs — so the route is ordered for efficiency and on-time delivery rather than the order requests arrived.
Group stops by geography, then order them to minimize backtracking while respecting each stop's delivery window. Calculate a running ETA down the list; if any stop lands outside its window, swap the order until every ETA fits.
A sheet works well up to a handful of routes a day. Once you're sequencing dozens of stops across many trucks with tight windows, route optimization software finds better sequences far faster than manual planning can.
The time spent at each stop — unloading, getting a signature, waiting at a dock — is often the biggest variable in whether a route finishes on time. Leaving it out of the plan is the most common reason ETAs slip.
