Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions buyers usually ask once the category, software, or rollout details start getting more specific.
A checklist makes every install consistent and prevents the most common failure modes — missed ignition wiring, a device associated with the wrong vehicle, or data that never validates. It ensures the unit reports clean data from the first trip.
At minimum: GPS location, odometer, ignition/trip start-stop, and engine data, plus HOS and driver login for an ELD. Generating a test trip and confirming it appears accurately on the platform is the most reliable check.
It covers the install and commissioning steps that make an ELD function — power, pairing, HOS data, and driver login. Full ELD compliance also depends on the device certification and your HOS program; defer to current FMCSA ELD rules.
Associating the serial with the correct unit in the asset register keeps reporting mapped to the right vehicle, simplifies troubleshooting, and prevents the data from a swapped or replaced device being attributed to the wrong asset.
